From 8:45 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. pick up from your respective hotels (downtown), bus station
Bus or Plaza de Armas for the transfer to the port of Puno where we will board a boat to
motor that will take us to the fascinating floating islands of the Uros. It is said that the Uros have inhabited
these islands on the lake for hundreds of years, the inhabitant of the Uros learned how to harvest the
abundant totora that exists and gather them in large quantities and then join them with the root and thus form
small islands as platforms, these ancient people who despite the weather and the cold today
Today they continue to live on these artificial reed islands, they are known as the children of the mother
cocha (mother lake), they daily maintain their islands, adding new layers of "Totora",
(lake plant). Their houses, boats, viewpoints, etc. they are made from that same plant. During our
visit we can explore the island and its typical houses, souvenir shops and we can even take a walk
in one of their reed boats (raft) with an additional cost. after our visit
We will return to Puno.
